RBR (Crops) Ltd: Specialist Potato Farmers
Our story at RBR (Crops) Ltd began in 1965, inspired by the shared vision of Wal Richmond, Mike Brighton, and Eve Reeve. All three of us had our roots in Lincolnshire, where we honed our expertise as potato merchants. With our collective knowledge, passion, and understanding of the industry, we laid the groundwork for a legacy that has stood the test of time.
By 1967, we set our eyes on Carlton Farm in North Walsham, Norfolk. The site, which started as a fruit farm with modest wooden sheds, has seen immense transformation over the years. Today, it spans 12 acres and boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as refrigerated and ambient storage, advanced grading and transportation systems, and contemporary offices. In addition, we cultivate 200ha of arable land, ensuring that our potatoes get the finest soil and care they deserve.
We take immense pride in our longstanding history in the potato industry. Over the years, we've forged robust relationships with leading supermarket chains in the UK. Moreover, our collaborations extend to dedicated growers across the country, forming a strong community that shares our passion for quality produce.
At the heart of our operations lies our family ethos. Mike Brighton, one of our founders, leads us as our chairman. Our commitment to continuity and tradition is further reflected as his sons, Mark and Stuart, play integral roles as directors, guiding our company's vision and values.
We understand the essence of variety in potato farming. Hence, we offer a diverse range of potatoes, each with its unique characteristics, ensuring that there's something for every palate and culinary need.
The list goes on with Maritiema, a variety resistant to certain nematode species, the ever-reliable King Edward, Marabel with its yellow flesh, Vivaldi's versatility, the vibrant Rooster, and Maris Peer, which is a hit in early-season ware.
Our dedication to potato farming is unwavering. At RBR (Crops) Ltd, we believe in providing the best – be it in terms of the quality of potatoes, our innovative farming techniques, or our relationship with our partners and consumers. As we continue our journey, we invite you to be part of our legacy and relish the superior quality of potatoes we cultivate with so much love and care.

We received a 20% Grant for our project through 'Business Transistion to Net Zero' Grant Scheme provided by New Anglia LEP.
